Kyoto Fusioneering Attended SOFT 2024 in Ireland
Kyoto Fusioneering (KF) proudly participated in the 2024 Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT), held from September 22 to 27 in Ireland. Our team of engineers and researchers, representing a range of expertise, actively participated in the conference. We engaged in technical discussions through poster presentations and at our exhibition booth.
Additionally, Richard Pearson, Co-founder, Chief Innovator, and UK Director, delivered an insightful presentation, highlighting key challenges in the path toward commercial fusion deployment.
We were delighted to meet so many of you and to discuss the exciting future of fusion energy!
Kyoto Fusioneering Selected by NEDO for its “Deep-Tech Startups Support Program in the Green Transformation field (GX)”
KF has been selected by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) to develop gyrotron technology for deep geothermal power generation. This innovative technology uses microwaves to melt and evaporate rock, offering a more efficient alternative to traditional drilling methods, which are costly and face wear-and-tear challenges.
KF’s new gyrotron technology, originally developed for fusion energy, is set to reduce geothermal energy generation costs. In addition to geothermal power, gyrotrons have potential applications in fusion energy and space exploration, with growing demand anticipated globally.

THE FUSION ERA – Meet Our Team: Business Development and Operations Division
We are excited to announce the debut of our "Meet Our Team" series!
This series will introduce key members of KF and highlight their roles, teamwork, and contributions to advancing commercial fusion energy.
In the first "Meet Our Team" feature, we spotlight the Business Development and Operations Division whose work goes beyond sales. The team supports R&D, project management, and supply chain management, acting as a bridge between our engineering team, customers, and suppliers. Their efforts not only enhance KF's internal operations but also contribute significantly to the global fusion community.
Explore the full story to learn how this team helps unlock the potential of our engineers, speeds up R&D, and contributes to bringing fusion energy closer to commercial reality.
Behind the Fusion Scene with Kyosuke Namba
In this month's 'Behind the Fusion Scene', we spotlight Kyosuke Namba, a talented engineer at KF.
Leveraging his experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) from his previous role at a major engineering firm in Japan, Kyosuke leads mechanical design for the two UNITY projects.
